MDPE Plastic Recycling
MDPE is a medium-density polythylene that is most used in gas pipes, fittings, sacks, stretchable films, water and waste plumbing. It is sometimes known as ‘black alkathene’. It is known for its resistance to cracking compared to higher density polyethylene.
Chemical Resistance:
- MDPE has excellent resistance to both diluted and concentrated acids and alcohols.
- MDPE has good resistance to vegetable oils, ketones and aldehydes.
- MDPE has moderate resistance to mineral oils, oxidizing agents, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons.
- MDPE has low resistance to halogenated hydrocarbons.
MDPE Applications:
- Sacks
- Shrink/packaging film
- Gas pipes and fittings
- Waste water pipes and fittings
- Carrier bags
- Container drums/barrels
